VIN# 0JL4UA2109874INTRODUCTION
Imported from the laid back beautiful coastal city of San Diego which is known as “The Friendliest City” to the "Valley of the Sun" we call Phoenix, Arizona, stands this 4 wheel, Vintage Plymouth Pick-up Truck, titled…, The Arrow. This standard 4 speed 4 cylinder manual trans of a truck is known amongst the enthusiasts as a rarity…, A Rare Breed!
The Plymouth Arrow vehicles was generally known for their design of compact cars. Nevertheless, between the late disco-era of the 70’s and the early techno boom of the 80’s, they decided to creep outside the box and create the Arrow Pick-up Truck. Due to whatever reason…, their design and engineering specifications was sold off to Mitsubishi and it became their first compact truck for them in the Mid-80’s.
EXTERIOR
As you scroll thru the multiple photos of the Arrow, this Pick-up Truck is in good condition for her age.
No visible dents OR scratches throughout. Unbeknownst to most, the truck has spent countless years on the west coast, which is why it is a wonder that previous “owners" had kept the exterior of the truck’s paint; a "less than" faded look to it furthermore it is RUST-FREE throughout the vehicle as well as under the carriage.
The tailgate is easy to open and firmly closes is functional plus the bed of the truck has a defined non-slip, rubber protective mat surface within, which covers every inch of the bed and is exceptionally clean! Truck has a spare tire under the bed. All tires have full tread to them, wheels and axel are in decent condition however, sometime down the road, she should have her wheels re-aligned just to prevent...
Door handles, over-size side mirrors and sliding glass window behind the seats are all in good order.
Turn Signal Lights, Reverse, Brake and Emergency brake lights all function well with no cracks within their casing. The truck is also equipped with heavy-duty Fog Lights encased by a metallic black front bumper protector.
INTERIOR
The INTERIOR is brown or Tan with a touch of red trim.
Within the instrument panel that sits underneath the dash, we have the important indicators lights and its gauges, i.e., (RPM’s, MPH, Gas, Brakes, Fluids, etc.)…, which serves their purpose and are fully serviceable. However the lights within the panel are less than bright but still able to read the instruments during hours of darkness. Steering wheel is a bit on the thinner side. Horn Is on the steering wheel, although its sounds a bit weak once it’s engaged. Air Conditioning Unit blows air needs Freon...
4-speed manual gear shift sits to the right of the driver. No "ware & tear" on all the foot pedals. Clutch moves in and out with no slack. Emergency brake is to the right of the steering column. Door handles and the roll-down window handles maneuvers smoothly.
Radio/Cassette deck and Speakers works fine but for the occasional "Music Lover”, who reeks quality, infinite sound; an upgrade to the sound system is suggested…, at the discretion of new ownership. Am sure certain items/parts, (Cassette Decks and Speakers) that will fit this 80’s truck, can be found on eBay, auto and Audio websites.
Bucket seats for two. The seat belt straps themselves have NO strands of stray, loose threads and the seats have seat coverings over them. Truck Manual on the 1980 Arrow Truck is located in the glove compartment.
LONGEVITY
It’s odometer only reads 95,821 MILES,
if one does the math, you calabrate 2,281 miles per year. Break that further down by 12 months and you get, 190 miles each month. So as one can see that this truck is in decent shape for being 42 years young. Concluding that she was very seldom used as an everyday truck and possibly was kept in the garage!
Under the hood, is a Four cylinder engine:
Engine: 2.0L (122 cid) 14 (1976-1980)
Horses: 75-96 hp
which runs and sounds well. A fairly new battery installed in 2021. Basic tune-up/maintenance was performed prior to Truck’s display in a consignment facility.
