Oil Gauging Tape Description
This is a brand new oil gauging tape with a plumb bob included. The tape is made of black steel with US standard graduated measurements on one side and metric graduated measurements on the other. The reel folds neatly into the frame for easier portability. The plumb bob is solid chromed brass with graduations stamped onto the surface.
These tapes are used to gauge innage (how much liquid is left in the tank), outage (how much liquid has been removed from the tank), a combination of both (ullage), or to gauge how much water has settled at the bottom of the tank (using water finding paste). Typically oil gauging tape is used in the oil field, mining, or on marine vessels.
