Zinsser Rustoleum Outdoor Furniture Oil (interior/exterior) - 3.78 litres TEAKDESCRIPTION AND USES
Zinsser
®
Outdoor Furniture Oil is specifically formulated to provide an Outstanding UV and moisture resistant finish for dense woods such as teak, rosewood or mahogany. Zinsser Outdoor Furniture Oil penetrates deep into wood pores to create the rich, warm glow of a hand-rubbed finish. Zinsser Outdoor Furniture Oil protects wood from within and is resistant to chipping, peeling, general wear and weathering. Use to treat outdoor or indoor furniture and marine surfaces (above the water line) such as wood boat decks, cabinets and rails.
SURFACE PREPARATION
PREVIOUSLY FINISHED SURFACES
For best results, surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of old finishes, dust, dirt, oils, or foreign matter. Old finishes in poor condition must be removed. Sand to obtain a smooth surface. Remove all sanding dust using a vacuum or cloth dampened with mineral turps.
UNFINISHED SURFACE PREPARATION
Sand using 150-220 grit sandpaper and remove all sanding dust using a rag dampened with mineral turps, or vacuum. If a filler or putty is used, make sure that it does not contain wax and allow enough time to dry thoroughly.
APPLICATION TIPS
Protect surrounding areas with a solvent resistant drop cloth covered in newspaper around the work area in case of drips or spills. Protect eyes and skin, wear safety goggles and chemical resistant gloves.
Use adequate ventilation at all times. Apply only when the air and surface temperatures are above 13°C, and below 32°C. Slower dry times may result from applications on redwood, cedar, or woods with a high tannin and oil content or periods of high humidity and/or low temperatures. Use full strength. To prevent bubbles in the finish, do not over-brush, shake, or apply with a roller. Test Zinsser Outdoor Furniture Oil in an inconspicuous area.
APPLICATION (Rag or Brush)
Stir or invert can several times before and during use. Flood surface and work into wood with a lint free cotton/poly rag or high quality brush. Allow finish to dry minimum of 30 minutes before re-coating. Lower temperatures and/or higher humidity may cause slower dry times. Apply additional coats every 15 minutes. Wipe surface thoroughly with a clean lint free cloth to remove excess oil from the surface. Allow finish to dry 12 hours before light use.
